Ballooning Hall of Fame

Indianola is home to the National Balloon Museum as well as the annual National Balloon Classic at the beginning of August. The museum features the history of hot-air and gas ballooning as well as ballooning events and people.

Bonaparte, Iowa

Bonaparte is the smallest Main Street community in the United States. The town is just one of five winners in the entire United States of the Great American Main Street Award. The town has also been named one of only 12 national Distinctive Destinations by the National Trust for Historic Renovation.
